Yoga Class Club: May 2025
Hey Everybody,
Welcome to May in our Yoga Class Club! 🌷
I’m excited to share this month’s collection of classes with you. You’ll find a well-rounded mix to support your practice all month long – whether you’re looking for something gentle, energizing, or extra challenging. I’ve also included a couple of shorter, 10-minute options for days when you want to move but don’t have a lot of time.
Our specialty class this month is a creative one: Wild Thing-Focused Flow! 🌀 This playful, 48-minute practice explores components of the yoga pose wild thing – like thoracic extension, shoulder loading, and side plank variations – woven throughout the flow. We do eventually make our way to wild thing itself, but in a whole new way that might change how you experience the pose!
A few reminders about our Yoga Class Club:
– Feel free to branch out and explore any other classes from the greater class library that feel right for you. This May selection is meant to offer a balanced month-long plan, but you’re always welcome to mix and match.
– You can substitute any class from the library (or even from another teacher, if you practice with others too!) if something I’ve selected this month isn’t quite the right fit for you. If you’re using the Accountability Checklist (scroll down to find it), you can note your swaps there as well.
I hope you enjoy this month’s Yoga Class Club lineup, and I’m so glad to be sharing the practice with you!
–Jenni
P.S. I’m always here in our community forum if you have questions, thoughts, or just want to say hi. 💬
Warm-Up Flows: 10-minute yoga/movement snacks
–Take each class 1x/week this month
-

Light Core & Shoulder Mobility Theme
This quick practice touches in on some shoulder and spine mobilizing to begin with, and then we move into a standing pose flow that will tune us into some great core movement. I hope you enjoy this creative yoga exploration!
-

Touching in on the Side Body
This quick flow keeps us relatively low to the ground (in a great way!), and we get to explore some potent side body targeting. We also begin our practice with a terrific roll-to-the-side move that incorporates shoulder stability and is one of my favorites!
Gentle yoga practices – when you want to move, but without a lot of effort
–Take each class once this month (and more if you need it)
-

Gentle Upper Back Practice (29 min)
This mellow practice will tune us into our upper and mid-back (thoracic spine region), and will offer us lots of mobilizing goodness in this often-stiff area! We start with a breathing practice and then move into a gentle mobility flow that I think you’ll love. Have a couple of yoga blocks and a strap with you (or household object equivalents of these props) and dive in!
-

Gentle & Restorative Wind-Down Practice (30 min)
When I teach restorative-style yoga classes, I often like to sequence some gentle, but dynamic movement in the first part of the class that helps prepare us to lie still in longer, sustained, restorative poses in the second half of class. I find that combination to work well!
Active yoga practices – we flow and connect to our breath, but the challenge level is moderate
Take each class at least 2x this month
-

Twisting-Focused Practice (40 min)
You’ll find a whole new connection to your spinal rotation in this class! We start with a great reclined spinal twist exploration, and then we move into a dynamic and energizing lunge-y flow with fun transitions and extra attention on spinal rotation. I’m calling this a “mellowly active” practice :) – it’s an active flow, but it’s a bit on the less-challenging side of active (but I wouldn’t call it a gentle class!).
-

Lower Body Mobility Flow (50 min)
This is a creative flow that targets our whole body, but there’s an extra focus woven in on the quads (front thighs) and hamstrings (backs of the thighs) and ankles! Thus the name “Lower Body Mobility Flow”! This class is themed around a super fun squat variation that I think you’ll like playing with.
-

Feel Good Flow 7 (38 min)
This is a whole body flow practice with a layer of focus on the core woven in. We approach the core mostly through rotation – rotating both our upper body (rib cage) and our lower body (pelvis). This is a “mellowly” active practice with a great mix of familiar yoga asanas and unfamiliar poses and transitions.
Strong flows (optional)– when we really want to level up the challenge!
Take each class 2x this month if your body wants a more fiery practice
-

Vigorous Vinyasa Flow 4 (34 min)
This novel practice weaves us through a creative and energizing standing flow that builds on itself over a few repetitions. We also get to work with one of my favorite shoulder mobility/rotator cuff strength moves – the YTWL! (You’ll see what I mean when you take the class – it’s a good one! :) )
-

Sun Salutation Countdown 2 (60 min)
At an hour in length, this is one of the longer classes in the library – which can be great when you really want to dedicate some time to the mat! But if you have less time and are still looking for a jolt of strong yoga energy, consider just taking the first 30 min of this class and then stopping the video and taking savasana! That’ll take you through sun salutation A and B and some fun dandasana walks, and I personally love that as a practice on its own!
Specialty class (optional)– a yoga class with an extra specific focus
Take this class 1 or more times this month if this specialty focus feels relevant for your body!
-

Wild Thing-Focused Flow (48 min)
This is a fun, well-rounded practice with themes of the components of the yoga pose “wild thing” woven throughout (e.g. thoracic extension, shoulder loading, side plank, and more!). Toward the end, we get to practice wild thing itself – but with a whole new relationship to the pose! A novel flow for your creative yoga needs! :)
